Water Infrastructure Watch
Three municipal water authorities in Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan have issued RFPs this week for water storage tank lining projects totaling approximately $6.8 million. All three require NSF/ANSI 61 compliant polyurea systems and AMPP CIP-certified inspection. Proposal deadlines range from July 15 to August 2. Full details in our water infrastructure article.
Research Update
Researchers at the University of Massachusetts have published preliminary findings showing a 38% bio-derived polyurea formulation achieving mechanical properties within 12% of conventional systems. The work, partially funded by the Department of Energy, advances the commercial viability of the bio-based systems discussed in our recent interview with Dr. Patricia Chen.
