Core Certification Programs
PDA Certified Polyurea Applicator (CPA)
The industry’s premier polyurea-specific certification. Required for warranty-backed applications on most specification-driven projects. 2-day training + written and practical exam.
AMPP CIP Level 1 – Coating Inspector
The gold standard for coating inspection and QC. 5-day course covering surface preparation standards, application QC, instruments, and documentation. Accepted on virtually all government and industrial projects.
OSHA 30-Hour (Construction or General Industry)
The baseline safety credential required on most commercial and all government job sites. 30 hours of training covering hazard recognition, PPE, fall protection, confined space, and more.
Manufacturer Certified Applicator Programs
All major manufacturers (Versaflex, Rhino Linings, Line-X, SPI, Sherwin-Williams) offer their own certification programs. Required for warranty-backed projects using their specific product systems.
Recommended Certification Pathway
OSHA 30-Hour + Primary manufacturer certification + PDA CPA (if possible). Get spraying with proper credentials.
AMPP CIP Level 1 + Secondary manufacturer certifications. Add quality control capability to differentiate from competition.
AMPP CIP Level 2 + Market-specific credentials (AWWA for water, DOD for defense). Pursue the high-value project segments.
